Case Study: Building a single source of truth at Repowering London

Feb 24, 2026

The Challenge: Tracking work and equipment across a wide range of distributed assets

Repowering London manages 45 solar installations across London with a 1.5MW capacity on behalf of 11 different energy cooperatives. With a growing portfolio comes a massive administrative burden: physical maintenance, regulatory paperwork, and site-specific data to track.

By early 2025, the team realized that manual tracking and spreadsheet-based management had reached its limit.

Knowledge and information were often held within teams or with individuals, which meant valuable context could be harder to access during periods of leave or transition. Recognising this highlighted an opportunity to strengthen shared systems and documentation, continuity, asset reliability, and ultimately the value delivered to the community.

The Solution: Alentis creating a single source of truth for asset management

To future-proof their operations, Repowering London joined Alentis as an early development partner. Together, they refined the Alentis Operating System specifically for small-to-mid-scale solar portfolios.

Alentis now serves as the "orchestration engine" for their operations, providing:

  • Work Management: A centralized platform to schedule, track, and document maintenance across all 45 sites.

  • Smart Document Management: All records are housed in a single, searchable repository, fully queryable via the Alentis chatbot.

  • Automated Equipment Tracking: Automated data extraction ensures the team knows exactly where every piece of equipment is and its current status.

The Results: Operations built to scale

By offloading operational complexity to Alentis, Repowering London has transitioned from reactive tracking to proactive management. The Repowering London team can now ensure all work is completed efficiently and on time more easily, freeing up mental bandwidth to focus on optimizing energy generation, or developing more assets.

As they continue to expand capacity into 2026, Repowering London is confident they can scale their impact without a proportional increase in headcount or administrative overhead.

“Working with Alentis has been a genuinely collaborative experience. As an early development partner, we were able to shape a system that reflects the realities of managing a distributed, community-owned solar portfolio. Alentis has given us the structure and visibility we needed to manage a complex portfolio more proactively, improving continuity, reliability, and confidence across our operations as we scale”

Lorraine Haskell, Head of Asset Management, Repowering London

“Solar portfolio growth brings exponentially more operational complexity. Repowering London is at the forefront of building the sophistication required to manage distributed assets at scale. Developing our work management features in partnership with the Repowering London team showed us exactly what practical energy asset managers need. We’re excited to support them as they scale in the most efficient way possible.” John-Henry Charles, CEO Alentis:
